important mindset to be in when training in martial arts

"Emptying your cup"




















People often come to the dojo/dojang/kwoon/gym focusing too much on what they think they want to learn. Instead of simply trying to absorb what is being taught. It's not "emptying your mind" or anything like that, but simply letting go of your inner ego; of what you think you already know, what you think you should be practicing..
